About This Trail
Spy Rock earned its name from scouts who once used this high overlook to survey the surrounding countryside. The loop trail climbs through Ozark forest to the rocky outcrop, where panoramic views reward the moderate effort. The relatively lesser-known status of this trail means fewer crowds than similar viewpoints elsewhere, providing a more peaceful wilderness experience.
Getting There
From Jasper, take AR-7 south approximately 12 miles. Turn west onto FR-1805 and continue 5 miles to the Spy Rock trailhead. The gravel road is suitable for most vehicles in dry conditions.
