About This Trail

Sitton Gulch Trail descends into the depths of Cloudland Canyon, offering an immersive journey through one of Georgia’s most dramatic landscapes. The trail drops over 1,000 feet from the canyon rim to the creek below, passing through boulder fields, beneath towering rock walls, and alongside seasonal waterfalls. The canyon floor provides a completely different perspective than the rim trails above, with cool temperatures even on summer days and a lush understory of ferns and wildflowers. The challenging descent and steep return climb reward fit hikers with solitude and scenery rarely found in the Southeast. Allow plenty of time for the return journey and bring ample water for this strenuous but spectacular adventure.
