About This Trail
Springer Mountain marks the southern terminus of the 2,190-mile Appalachian Trail. The hike to the summit passes through beautiful mountain forest and ends at the bronze plaque marking the trail's beginning. Many thru-hikers begin their journey to Maine here each spring.
Getting There
From Dahlonega, GA, take GA-52 east to Nimblewill Church Road. Continue to FS 42 and follow to the USFS parking area near Springer Mountain.
