About This Trail
Spruce Knob at 4,863 feet is the highest point in West Virginia. The Whispering Spruce Trail loops through a unique high-altitude spruce forest to an observation tower with 360-degree views of the Allegheny Mountains and Monongahela National Forest.
Getting There
From Riverton, WV, take US-33 west to CR-33/4. Follow signs to Spruce Knob and the parking area near the summit.
