About This Trail

Stanley Gap Trail traverses one of north Georgia’s most scenic mountain corridors, climbing through forests carpeted with spring wildflowers and offering periodic views of the surrounding Blue Ridge peaks. The trail’s diverse terrain—from shaded creek valleys to open ridgetops—supports a remarkable variety of wildflowers, making it a destination for botanists and nature photographers. The well-maintained path accommodates both hikers and mountain bikers, with enough length and elevation change to provide a genuine workout while remaining accessible to moderately fit adventurers. Autumn brings spectacular color to the diverse hardwood canopy, while summer’s cooler mountain temperatures offer relief from lowland heat.
