About This Trail
This short walk leads to one of Petit Jean’s most historic and scenic spots, where the legendary Petit Jean is buried overlooking the Arkansas River Valley. The sweeping panorama encompasses miles of valley and distant ridges, while interpretive signs tell the romantic legend of the French woman who followed her explorer lover to the wilderness. This is an essential stop for any Petit Jean visit.
Getting There
From Petit Jean State Park, follow Red Bluff Drive to Stout's Point parking area at the end of the road. The overlook is a short, paved walk from the parking lot, fully accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.
