About This Trail

Table Rock Mountain is South Carolina’s most recognizable peak, its distinctive profile rising above the Blue Ridge escarpment as a beacon for hikers seeking genuine mountain adventure. The trail climbs 2,000 feet through diverse forest habitats, passing the historic CCC-era Civilian Conservation Corps shelter before emerging at rocky overlooks with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks, Lake Jocassee, and the Piedmont stretching to the horizon. The challenging ascent rewards determined hikers with one of the finest summit experiences in the Southeast, combining natural beauty with a genuine sense of accomplishment. Early starts are recommended to enjoy the summit before afternoon clouds and to secure parking on busy weekends.
