About This Trail
This segment of the Wild Azalea Trail skirts the shores of Kincaid Lake, combining the famous spring azalea blooms with refreshing water views. The terrain is easy to moderate, rolling through mixed forest with occasional glimpses of the lake’s sparkling surface. This section makes an excellent day hike destination with swimming opportunities at the lake.
Getting There
From Alexandria, take LA-28 west to LA-121 south. Continue to Kincaid Lake Recreation Area and turn right. The Wild Azalea Trail access point is at the back of the recreation area near the group camping pavilion.
