About This Trail

Yellow Branch Falls is one of South Carolina’s most beautiful waterfalls, a 50-foot cascade tumbling over mossy rocks in a secluded mountain cove. The trail climbs moderately through diverse forest, crossing Yellow Branch Creek multiple times before reaching the falls amphitheater. The waterfall’s setting—surrounded by towering hemlocks, rhododendrons, and diverse wildflowers—creates a sense of discovering a hidden sanctuary. The multiple creek crossings add adventure to the approach, requiring rock-hopping that delights hikers of all ages. This trail captures the essence of Upstate South Carolina mountain hiking: moderate effort rewarded with genuinely beautiful natural scenery.
