About This Trail

Following an old logging railroad corridor through Dolly Sods in Monongahela National Forest, this trail parallels Stonecoal Run with three creek crossings. Dense foliage, natural springs, and pine forests lead to waterfalls near Breathed Mountain, with excellent backcountry campsites along the route.

Getting There

From Webster Springs, WV, take Route 20 south to the Cranberry Wilderness area. Turn onto Forest Road 76 and continue to the Big Stonecoal Trailhead. The parking area is along the forest road in Webster County.
