About This Trail

A rolling 2.8-mile woodland trail through the mixed hardwood forests of Worlds End State Park, passing through groves of butternut, oak, and hickory trees. The moderate terrain offers a quieter alternative to the park’s more popular Canyon Vista route. Part of Worlds End’s 20+ mile trail network that climbs the surrounding Endless Mountains ridges.

Getting There

From Forksville, take PA-154 south to Worlds End State Park. The Butternut Trail begins just past the Cabin Bridge over Loyalsock Creek, with a small parking lot on the left near the trailhead.
