About This Trail
Winding through downtown Columbia as the Palmetto Trail’s first urban passage, this 9-mile route passes the University of South Carolina Horseshoe and State Capitol steps. A 4-mile Riverfront Park segment follows the historic Columbia Canal towpath along the Congaree River.
