About This Trail

Newport’s legendary 3.5-mile National Recreation Trail hugs the Atlantic coastline past Gilded Age mansions including The Breakers and Marble House. The northern section follows smooth pavement while the southern stretch turns rugged over rocky shoreline, drawing over a million visitors annually.

Getting There

From downtown Newport, head south on Memorial Boulevard to Easton's Beach for the northern start of the Cliff Walk. Alternatively, park on Narragansett Avenue near the Forty Steps for mid-trail access.
