About This Trail

This flat greenway cuts a straight line through Scarborough Marsh, Maine’s largest salt marsh at 3,100 acres, with expansive views of wetland grasses in every direction. The segment is popular for birding and wildlife watching, though hikers should expect open, windy conditions along the exposed causeway.

Getting There

From Portland, take I-95 south to Exit 42 (Scarborough). Follow Payne Road east to Pine Point Road. The Eastern Trail Scarborough Marsh segment trailhead is along Pine Point Road near the marsh.
