About This Trail
Rising 800 feet from the waters of Moosehead Lake with dramatic 700-foot rhyolite cliffs, Mount Kineo is reached by a short boat ride from Rockwood followed by a steep climb via the Indian Trail or the gentler Bridle Trail. A restored fire tower at the summit provides sweeping views across Maine’s largest lake and the surrounding wilderness.
