About This Trail

Following an old railroad grade through the Iron Mountain zone of Cherokee National Forest, this 2.3-mile trail crosses Gentry Creek roughly 14 times before reaching a spectacular 60-foot double waterfall. Spring runoff makes creek crossings challenging but rewards hikers with peak water flow at the falls.

Getting There

From Mountain City, take Highway 91 north 6.6 miles to Laurel Bloomery. Turn right on Gentry Creek Road at the fire department, bear right at the split, and continue 2 miles on gravel to the parking area at road's end.
