About This Trail

A remote 9.8-mile backcountry ascent through the Glastenbury Wilderness to a historic fire tower atop the 3,748-foot summit. Mature beech forests provide critical black bear habitat with claw-marked trees common along the route, and Goddard Shelter offers an overnight near the top.

Getting There

From Bennington, take VT-9 east approximately 5 miles to the Long Trail/Appalachian Trail parking lot on the north side of the highway. The trail to Glastenbury Mountain begins across the road heading south.
