About This Trail

Circling the 80-acre Hematite Lake near Woodlands Nature Station, this 2.2-mile loop features a quarter-mile boardwalk through wetlands and beaver marsh. Iron ore artifacts, ancient oaks, and seasonal wildflowers like Virginia bluebells and trilliums line the easy, family-friendly path.

Getting There

From Cadiz, take US-68 west into Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. The Hematite Lake Trail is accessible from the Fort Henry Trail system in the southwestern section of the recreation area.
