About This Trail
This easy 1.6-mile trail passes through a 200-acre National Natural Landmark of old-growth beech-maple forest, a rare remnant of the woodland that once covered much of Ohio. Many beech trees exceed 200 years old, with one specimen dated to roughly 300 years. Spring brings carpets of wildflowers including trilliums, Dutchman’s breeches, and bloodroot.
