About This Trail

A 3.5-mile trail along the historic Whitewater Canal through the river valley near Metamora, passing the nation’s only surviving wooden aqueduct still in use, built in 1843 over Duck Creek. The crushed-limestone route passes restored canal locks, a working gristmill, and wooded stretches above the Whitewater River.

Getting There

From Metamora, park near the Grist Mill at 19073 S Main Street. Walk east through historic Metamora about 0.4 miles to the Duck Creek Aqueduct along the Whitewater Canal Trail.
