About This Trail

Paved 12-mile shared-use greenway connecting downtown Lexington to the Kentucky Horse Park through iconic bluegrass horse country. Eight miles run completely off-street past rolling pastures and white-fenced paddocks. Three trailheads offer free parking, water fountains, and restrooms along the 10-to-12-foot-wide path.

Getting There

From downtown Lexington, the Legacy Trail southern trailhead is at the North Side YMCA at 381 W. Loudon Avenue. The 12-mile paved trail extends north to the Kentucky Horse Park.
