About This Trail

Backcountry trail in Cherokee National Forest’s Tellico Ranger District, climbing 1,600 feet over 3.9 miles from North River Road up McNabb Creek to the Cherohala Skyway. Old railroad-grade sections alternate with singletrack through dense Appalachian forest. Expect blowdowns and creek crossings on this lightly maintained route.

Getting There

From Tellico Plains, take Highway 165 east about 5 miles, then turn onto Forest Service Road 210. Continue 11 miles to North River Road (FSR 217), then 2.5 miles to the McNabb Creek trailhead parking.
