About This Trail
Loop through 7,700 acres of mountain ridges and old-growth forest in Charlemont, including the Cold River Virgin Forest with 500-year-old hemlocks, a designated National Natural Landmark. Trails follow the cold, clear river through deep ravines past some of New England’s oldest trees.
