About This Trail

A long climb through the Pemigewasset Wilderness to Mount Carrigain’s 4,682-foot summit, site of the nation’s first fire tower. The initial miles meander gently along Carrigain Brook with possible moose sightings before a steep final push to a legendary 360-degree panorama of the White Mountains.

Getting There

From Route 302 in Harts Location, turn south onto Sawyer River Road (10 miles west of Route 16). Drive 2 miles to the Signal Ridge Trail parking on the left, just past Whiteface Brook bridge.
