About This Trail

The steeper alternative route to South Sugarloaf’s summit via the Pocumtuck Ridge Trail, gaining 460 feet in 0.4 miles through switchbacks up the south cliff. The reward is the same panoramic Connecticut River Valley view from the three-level summit pavilion in Deerfield.

Getting There

From I-91 in Deerfield, take Exit 24 and follow MA-116 south to the intersection with Sugarloaf Street. Turn onto Sugarloaf Street and follow signs to the Mount Sugarloaf State Reservation parking area.
