About This Trail

Free interpretive loop at Oconee Station State Historic Site, passing a 1792 stone blockhouse and the 1805 William Richards House on South Carolina’s former Cherokee frontier. A connecting half-mile spur leads to 60-foot Station Cove Falls in Sumter National Forest. Spring wildflowers include trillium, mayapple, and pink lady’s slipper orchids.

Getting There

From Walhalla, take SC-11 northwest about 20 miles. The Oconee Station State Historic Site entrance is just beyond the bridge crossing Lake Keowee. Follow park signs to the interpretive trail parking.
