About This Trail

Starting at a circa-1845 pioneer cabin built by John Walker, this trail descends along Cedar Creek toward Cedar Falls in Petit Jean State Park. CCC-built stone steps from the 1930s guide hikers past rock formations and small caves. One of Arkansas’s oldest standing log structures overlooks the canyon from the trailhead.

Getting There

From Morrilton, take AR-9 north approximately 10 miles, then turn left onto AR-154 West (Petit Jean Mountain Road). Follow it about 8 miles to Petit Jean State Park. The trailhead is near the Pioneer Cabin, about a half-mile east of Mather Lodge.
