About This Trail

Moderate 3.8-mile loop on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Weaverville leading to the stone ruins of a 1903 summer estate built by Dr. Chase Ambler, a founder of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park movement. Stacked-stone foundations, a spring house, and a terraced yard remain. Named for the 41 rattlesnakes killed in the lodge’s first three years.
