About This Trail

The trail begins near the Jane Hurt Yarn Interpretive Center. It is considered to be Georgia’s most rugged short section of trail, as it loses almost 560 feet in 0.3 mile, with some areas reaching angles of 45 degrees.

The path winds down a ridge and ends at Sliding Rock, where hikers can choose to continue on to explore more of the gorge.

Getting There

From Tallulah Falls, take US 441 to Tallulah Gorge State Park. Enter the park and follow signs to the North or South Rim trailheads. A permit is required to access the gorge floor and must be obtained from the park office.
