About This Trail

Walk the 1.5-mile loop around the pond where Henry David Thoreau lived for two years and wrote his masterwork ‘Walden,’ passing the site of his cabin at Thoreau’s Cove. The trail hugs the shoreline through a 400-acre state reservation of forest and clear glacial water.

Getting There

From Concord center, take MA 126 (Walden Street) south. The Walden Pond State Reservation entrance is on the east side of Route 126, 0.25 miles south of the Route 2 junction.
