A long Kittatinny Ridge segment of the Appalachian Trail linking Wawayanda to High Point, passing lakes, exposed ridges, and New Jersey’s highest elevation at 1,803 feet. The trail traverses multiple ecosystems from valley floor to high-elevation cedar swamp. Extended views open from the ridge across the Wallkill Valley.

Getting There

From the Wawayanda State Park area, take Route 94 north to the AT crossing near Vernon. Parking is available at the Route 94 trailhead. The trail heads north through High Point State Park toward the New York border.
