About This Trail

A Wharton State Forest route linking the Atsion recreation area to the historic Quaker Bridge, one of the Pine Barrens’ oldest river crossings. The trail follows the Batsto River through cedar swamp and sandy pine-oak forest. A quiet backcountry walk through the heart of the New Jersey Pinelands.

Getting There

From Hammonton, take Route 206 south to Atsion Road in Wharton State Forest. The Atsion trailhead parking is near the Atsion Recreation Area at the junction of Route 206 and Atsion Road. Follow the Batona Trail south toward Quaker Bridge.
