About This Trail

A varied loop through Patapsco Valley’s historic Avalon area, passing Cascade Falls, the ruins of Orange Grove Flour Mill, and the site of the former Bloede Dam. Multiple route options range from 5 to 7 miles through river corridors and forested ridges.

Getting There

From Baltimore, take I-695 to Exit 13 for Frederick Road (Route 144). Head west on Route 144 into Patapsco Valley State Park's Avalon Area. The trailhead parking is at the end of Gun Road off Route 1 in the Avalon section.
