About This Trail

A 4.5-mile backcountry loop through the Beaver Basin Wilderness, one of the quieter sections of Pictured Rocks. The trail winds through interior boreal forest, past wetland edges and small beaver ponds, offering solitude away from the popular lakeshore routes. Moderate terrain with occasional muddy sections.

Getting There

From Munising, take H-58 east to Little Beaver Lake Road. Turn north and drive to the end at the Beaver Basin Trailhead parking area near the Beaver Lake Campground within Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
