About This Trail

A pleasant 2.1-mile park route skirting the shoreline of Lake Lenape in Shakamak State Park, where white-tailed deer and waterfowl are commonly sighted. The trail winds through oak woods and near-water habitat on land reclaimed from early 20th-century coal mining operations in western Indiana.

Getting There

From Jasonville, IN, take SR-48 west approximately 2 miles past town. The Shakamak State Park entrance is on the left. Follow park roads to the trail system parking area. The Beaver Trail loops through the wooded area near the lakes.
