About This Trail

The most accessible of the three Billy Goat sections at 1.7 miles, looping through rock outcroppings with outstanding Potomac River views and a small waterfall. Accessed from Carderock Recreation Area, it returns via the C&O Canal towpath at Mile 10.9.

Getting There

From Potomac, MD, take MacArthur Boulevard south to the Carderock Recreation Area. Park in the Carderock lot and access the C&O Canal towpath. The Billy Goat Trail Section C entrance is along the towpath, heading upstream from Carderock.
