About This Trail
Ascending to Black Mountain at 4,145 feet, Kentucky’s highest point in Harlan County, this route follows an old gravel and broken-asphalt road gaining over 2,500 feet from the valley floor. Communication towers mark the summit, which is now state-owned and open to visitors without a waiver.
