About This Trail

Climbing through Raccoon Branch Wilderness near Sugar Grove, this 4.8-mile route gains 895 feet to the summit of Dickey Knob. A viewpoint near the top overlooks the Rye Valley, and the old fire tower foundation marks the high point.

Getting There

From Wise, take VA-646 south into the Jefferson National Forest. The Dickey Knob trailhead is accessible from Forest Road 238 off VA-646 in the High Knob Recreation Area of Wise County.
