About This Trail

A 3.2-mile climb to Ascutney’s summit along an old logging road, passing an abandoned granite quarry with remnants of cranes and ore car tracks. The route offers Connecticut River Valley views before reaching the observation tower for 360-degree panoramas of the White and Green Mountains.

Getting There

From the Mt. Ascutney State Park office, drive 1.8 miles north on Route 44A to Route 44. Turn west on Route 44 and travel 1.0 mile to the Brownsville Trail trailhead on the left.
