About This Trail

Hike through 1,800-acre Hubbard Park to Castle Craig, a 32-foot stone observation tower at 976 feet on East Peak in Meriden, dedicated in 1900. Clear-day views extend south to Sleeping Giant and Long Island Sound, with the Metacomet Trail providing ridge access.

Getting There

From I-691 east, take Exit 4 for West Main Street. Turn right and continue 0.7 miles. Turn left into Hubbard Park at Mirror Lake Drive. The Castle Craig Trail begins from the parking area near the lake.
