About This Trail

Following Crabtree and Sycamore Creeks through Umstead State Park, this trail passes the stone remnants of a 19th-century gristmill, including a preserved mill wheel. Frequent stream crossings and diverse forest scenery make it one of the most popular hikes in the Triangle area.
