About This Trail

This trail is a one-mile loop around the area where the last Cherokee Council met in 1837 before the Cherokee Nation was forced to walk its Trail of Tears. A replica of the Council House, among other buildings, is located along the loop. The trail is entirely paved and level.

Getting There

From Cleveland, TN, take US 64 east to Red Clay State Historic Park. The Council House Trail is located within the park grounds.
