About This Trail

Winding through a 2,965-acre Heritage Preserve, this trail reaches a dramatic 14-acre granite monadnock harboring one of the world’s most endangered plants, the pool sprite. Vernal pools, beaver ponds with summer water lilies, and nearly a dozen rare species make this piedmont outcrop ecologically extraordinary.

Getting There

From Kershaw, drive north on US-601 approximately 9 miles and turn left onto Nature Reserve Road (County Road S-29-27). The lower trailhead parking area is 0.4 miles on the left.
