About This Trail
Beginning at the park office, this strenuous route climbs through hardwood forest to Pilot Mountain’s summit, crossing several streams and passing massive rock formations along the way. The steady 1,400-foot elevation gain rewards hikers with sweeping ridge views, and the trail connects to the Ledge Spring and Pilot Knob trails at the top for a full summit loop.
