About This Trail
A 4.1-mile moderate trail connecting the old-growth pine forest interior of Hartwick Pines State Park to the banks of the Au Sable River, one of Michigan’s most celebrated trout streams. The route crosses the river twice and passes through a mix of virgin timber and recovering forest. Rolling terrain with scenic river corridor views throughout.
