About This Trail
Lakeshore Trail at Dockery Lake is an easy 0.6-mile loop that circles this scenic 6-acre lake in the Chattahoochee National Forest of Lumpkin County, Georgia. The well-maintained path offers beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains, making it perfect for a leisurely family outing. The lake is stocked with trout and features a fishing pier for anglers, while the trail passes through a forest of hemlocks, rhododendrons, and hardwoods. Spring wildflowers and blooming rhododendrons add color to the landscape, and the fall foliage is spectacular. The loop connects to the more challenging Dockery Lake Trail for hikers seeking a longer adventure. A picnic area near the trailhead makes this an ideal spot for a day trip, and the campground offers overnight accommodations for those wanting to extend their visit to this peaceful mountain retreat.
