About This Trail

A wide, flat 2.9-mile trail following an old railroad bed along the East Branch of the Pemigewasset River, serving as the main gateway to the Pemigewasset Wilderness. Popular year-round for its easy walking and river scenery, it connects to routes for Franconia Falls, the Bonds, and Owl’s Head.

Getting There

From Lincoln, take the Kancamagus Highway (NH-112) east approximately 5 miles. The Lincoln Woods Trailhead has a large parking lot, ranger station, and restrooms on the south side of the road.
