About This Trail

A strenuous Franconia Notch loop ascending the steep and eroded Flume Slide, an old landslide path with loose rock and scrambling. The route rewards with views from Mount Liberty and Mount Flume, two 4,000-footers connected by a scenic ridgeline above the notch.

Getting There

From I-93 in Lincoln, park at the Lafayette Place parking area in Franconia Notch. The Liberty Spring Trail and Flume Slide Trail begin from the east side of the parking lot.
