About This Trail

A 4-mile rail-trail following a former railroad grade through dense Vinton County forest, passing through the historic Moonville Tunnel, a reportedly haunted 19th-century railroad tunnel where a brakeman was killed. The flat, shaded corridor connects to the Zaleski State Forest trail system and offers easy walking through Appalachian Ohio’s tunnel country.
