About This Trail

A rewarding 10-mile round-trip through dense forest to the rocky summit of Mount Garfield at 4,500 feet, where a former fire tower site offers sweeping views of the Pemigewasset Wilderness and Franconia Ridge. The AMC Garfield Ridge Campsite provides backcountry camping options nearby.

Getting There

From I-93, take Exit 35 for US-3 east. Continue approximately 5 miles to the Five Corners intersection. Turn right onto Gale River Loop Road (FR 92) and follow it to the Garfield Trail parking area.
